5 Features in Windows 10 you should be excited for

arstechnica.com

Besides the visual enhancements, Windows 10 has been a major OS improvement that caught a lot of attention from both minimalists and power users. All the following features are available on Windows 10 (1809 build), if there is a feature missing on your PC, it can either be you are on an earlier build or you are using a different version of Windows. Enjoy 5 features in Windows 10 you should be excited for.

1. Multiple clipboards

Goodbye to those old habits of copying multiples items, to find out only the recent item is available, the next generation is gonna think we lived in dark times. Say hello to multiple clipboards. You can now copy items and Microsoft save those for you, at a later time you can use the combination windows key + V to choose what to paste. Ctr+V still works as normal; paste the recent item copied to the clipboard.

To get this into working; go to Settings, System, and Clipboard where you'll enable the magic with a toggle.

2. Dark mode

Black colors help you to concentrate on your screen for elongated times, plus they help to save some juice. All thanks to Microsoft for bringing Dark mode to almost every part of Windows 10. The File manager has it too so yeah, things look dark and that's unique, cool and elegant if you ask me.

To activate this mode, go to Settings, Personalization and finally Colors where you do it by choosing the dark mode.

3. A better search

Search results now show more options than just opening a file or an app. Not only can you jump straight to recently opened documents but also to a file location.
I might be crazy and say you should forget where you've put your files because it's easier to find them now. No extra steps like turning on toggles and enabling settings are required; this feature works out of the box.

4. A nifty screen printing tool

Before Windows 10 October update, we had a snipping tool by the same name for taking custom screenshots; free foam, rectangular or a full screen. The update now provides us with a new snipping tool with a new name, Snip and Sketch. Not only does it allow to capture shots but those pictures can be edited without a need of a second app.

Remember it goes by the name "Snip and Sketch" if you need to give it a try, or even better; it can be summoned by prt sc key if you have enabled it in settings.

To enable this; go to Settings, Ease of access and Keyboard where you turn on the toggle for this incredible feature.

5. Your phone app

With Windows 10 you can do one thing on your PC and then continue on your smartphone (Android or iOS), don't get too excited because it's only a fraction of activities that support that feature dubbed 'continuity'. For instance, you can surf the internet on your PC using Microsoft Edge and then continue on your smartphone using Microsoft Edge of course. A feature that became the talk of the town is the ability to sync text messages to the PC from a device using Your Phone app.

I never got it into work because it requires a device with at least Android 7.0 (Naugat) and my phone is currently running Android 4.4 (Kik Kat).

Those are features that should make your day, especially multiple clipboards that I have been using from day one and a dark mode that changed how my device look. That's it from us, like our Facebook page here if you haven't, see you next time.
